These images, found on public lands throughout the United States, are the beginning of a new body of work. They are not meant to be an exhaustive exploration of a particular place but rather a visual memory, sometimes fleeting, of a place discovered and enjoyed, for now. Some are from well known areas but many are from places I had never known existed until noticed on a map or around the bend in a road. They are the home of wildlife, birds, insects, and plants and I always try to tread lightly when I visit. My goal is to create a visual diary of protected places, like snapshots found years later of a golden time.

As I continue to find more of these treasures I will be adding images to this portfolio. The photographs are all toned gelatin silver prints, image size 15x15, printed in a limited edition of 50.
